The Heart of the Home

Nestled among the redwoods, this kitchen, living and dining room were designed as one connected space — the true heart of the home. Our client loves to entertain, so an open layout was key, offering seamless flow between cooking, gathering, and relaxing. Inspired by her surroundings, we leaned into organic tones and textures: soft sage cabinetry, warm wood accents, hand-thrown-style tile, and a grounding, earthy palette.

Vaulted ceilings add airiness and light, while an accent wall in shiplap introduces quiet texture and visual interest. Open shelving allows everyday items and collected treasures to shine. The fireplace tile brings subtle movement and color, echoing the natural world just outside the window. This space is all about comfort, calm, and character — layered, lived-in, and made to be shared.

This new-build project was a true labor of love — designed in collaboration with interior designer Natasha Sokol from Inspired Spaces. Natasha guided the layout, spacing, and lighting plans, while I led the vision for the overall look and feel. From the finishes and fixtures to the color palette, furnishings, and styling — every visual detail was thoughtfully chosen to reflect a cozy, collected, and personal home.
